A Business with Purpose at its Core

Enzo was founded in 2024 by Abi, an experienced accountancy professional who previously held a senior role in digital finance. After more than 16 years in traditional practice, Abi saw a clear opportunity to deliver accountancy in a more agile, collaborative, and tech-forward way.

The business was launched following a period of reflection, aligned by a personal milestone – Abi’s daughter starting primary school. This life change inspired the creation of a company built around balance, inclusivity, and meaningful, year-round support for its clients.

York Science Park’s Phase One Business Incubator Programme

During the summer of 2024, Abi applied to the Phase One Business Incubator Programme through our partnership with Barclays Eagle Labs.

“I was thrilled to be accepted and welcomed into such a supportive and collaborative environment. The programme not only gave me access to a vibrant community and office space beyond the home, but it also played a key role in shaping the early stages of the business.”

 The Phase One Incubator programme provides vital support for startups, offering access to office space, a thriving business community, and expert mentoring.

“The incubator gave me far more than just a place to work – it offered the chance to build a business surrounded by like-minded people, all on their own growth journeys,” Abi said.

A Full-Circle Moment Returning To York Science Park

Returning to York Science Park was a full-circle moment, as Abi had previously worked in the Innovation Centre over a decade earlier. Even then, the sense of community and support left a lasting impression. Fast forward to 2020 during lockdown, she found herself regularly walking through Campus East in Heslington, where The Catalyst is based.

‘I was struck by how refreshing and vibrant the area felt. There’s something about the mix of modern buildings, the university’s energy, and the peaceful green spaces that really appealed to me’ 

Now, Enzo Accounts are based in that very building.

“Being here each day, I love the little things – grabbing a Starbucks, watching the swans on the lake, and spotting rabbits darting in and out of their burrows. It’s a unique mix of professional and peaceful, and it’s the perfect setting to grow a business.”
