Events 

York Science Park closely partners with many business support and networking organisations in the city of York and region.  These valuable networking opportunities can lead to innovative new business ideas and partnerships.  The Science Park's space lends itself to collaboration, with plenty of conference and meeting rooms for a variety of events including seminars, workshops and business lunches. You can book a meeting room at York Science Park and also have your Event promoted here.  For promotion of events email: enquiries@yorksciencepark.co.uk with full details.

Thu 13th June to Sat 29th June (Various )
Running from 13 to 29 June, the 2013 York Festival of Ideas consists of over 120 mostly free events with talks from world-class speakers, performances, exhibitions and interactive experiences for people of all ages.

Mon 17th June to Thu 20th June (Various)
Join us for this informative week comprising of four invaluable sessions with facilitators who have a wealth of experience and expertise to help you with your personal and business development.

Tue 18th June to Mon 18th November (6.30pm - 9.00pm)
The evening will include: An update on our current activity with the Tour de France Information on plans for a cultural festival in the 100 days prior to the TdF An opportunity to meet the WTY team and ask any questions regarding TdF Tips and tricks to make the most of the event coming to Yorkshire The Tour de France is the world’s largest annual sporting event, this is your opportunity to find out how to be part of it.

Wed 19th June (8.30-10.30 am)
Garbutt & Elliott have teamed up with Growth Accelerator to provide a free interactive workshop. The workshop will be facilitated by expert business coaches and attendees will leave with a personalised plan of key areas for focus towards accelerated growth within their business.

Wed 19th June (8.45am - 4.30pm)
This one day course is a quick start introduction to programming apps on Apple iOS v6.1 devices. The cost is £150, however we are able to provide a 25% discount for SMEs.

Wed 19th June (from 5.45pm)
Join us for a 'Summer Soiree' at Goddards. It was only late last year that the National Trust opened 'Goddards' to the public - a York house built by Terry's chocolate. Take a private tour of the house, hear about the National Trust's plans for the future and enjoy supper in the beautiful gardens

Thu 20th June (7.30- 9.am)
The format of the event allows you to begin networking as soon as you arrive, and then take part in formal table networking followed by a table shuffle.

Thu 20th June (12.00pm-2.00pm)
Networking lunch and Workshop (optional) from 11am you must book to attend at the main lunch event in order to attend at the free workshop - £25 inc VAT

Thu 20th June (9.30am - 1.30pm)
Strategy workshop for Business Owners and executives responsible for Marketing. This workshop will provide an overview of the trends towards the use of social media for getting your message across to customers and potential customers, for brand recognition, customer contact and lead generation. We will walk through the main social media tools in the UK and discuss in an open format amongst the workshop participants, before concluding with action planning for you to take away into your business:

Tue 25th June (9.00am - 4.30pm)
The workshop will provide an introduction to a range of people management responsibilities. During the day individuals will also have an opportunity to focus on one of these themes in more detail, depending on their personal development needs.

Thu 27th June (9.30am - 3.30pm)
A powerhouse day of learning and development If you’ve attended our Positive Women’s Days then you’ll love this. We’re taking learning and development to the next level with our programme of top level speakers and coaches. Stars of the show include Julie Kay, Jules Wyman and Liz Clothier, but every workshop will be led by an expert. Whether you are a business owner, or you work for an employer there's something for everyone.

For people at all levels who believe that ethical values are important The words leadership and values have important meaning both in our working and personal lives. The definitions of both words are, however, complex and often misused. Mastering the connection between leadership and values is an essential requirement for ‘The Leadership’ of any team or organisation. In my experience, most organisational values are actually vision statements or lists of mission-associated tasks. So what’s going on?

The Big Bang Yorkshire & Humber - which incorporates our popular sub regional event ‘Inspirations’ - brings together science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) in a fun and interactive environment, linking classroom learning with real career opportunities.

It hasn’t made many headlines, in fact if you aren’t a fan of either Dragons Den’s Theo Paphitis or Countdown’s Nick Hewer; you may be forgiven for missing it altogether, but the UKs most radical pension overhaul for years rolled out at the end of last year.
