York tech startup plans to double workforce following city centre move
Tech startup RotaCloud has relocated to York city centre after outgrowing two offices at York Science Park in Heslington.

The RotaCloud team have now completed the move into a newly refurbished 2,700 sq ft office space on George Hudson Street.

With headcount at the company almost tripling during 2017, the team made the decision to expand into larger a premises.

RotaCloud’s rota planning software helps over 1,500 businesses in the UK and around the world resolve their staff scheduling problems.

Founded in 2013 by Joel Beverley, David Brandon and James Lintern, RotaCloud was built to prevent chaotic rota management at businesses of all sizes.

After moving to offices at York Science Park in early 2016, the team expanded to facilitate the demand for its software. Eighteen months on, the company filled not one but two offices to capacity, signalling to the its founders that it was time to move to a much larger space.

Joel Beverley said: “York Science Park was RotaCloud’s home for two years, but given our current rate of expansion, we knew it was time to move on.

“The Science Park played a critical role in our development as a business — it provided the physical space and infrastructure we needed to get RotaCloud off the ground, and we’ll always be grateful for the help and support we received during our time there.
“We’d definitely recommend York Science Park to any fellow startups in need of a professional office environment where they can grow their business.

“Our move to central York allows us to push forward with our expansion plans, helping us to improve our product and add more features for existing and new clients alike. We’re excited to move into a larger office space that we hope to fill with plenty of local talent!”
The team plan to double their headcount again over the course of 2018.
