Act with Impact - how to make your first impression count
Thu 7th September (09:00 - 12:00 )
Middletons Hotel Skeldergate YORK YO1 6DS

This Masterclass focuses on that all important First Impression; what other people's perception of you are at that first encounter, whether in person, on the phone, or online. Decisions are often made in the first seven seconds of any new human interaction so you need to get it right.

  • Do you look people in the eye?
  • Do you think about how you will introduce yourself?
  • To shake or not? How long? How Hard?
  • Does one size fit all when it comes to business introductions in the global marketplace?
  • Would you know how to represent your company with confidence and positivity both at home and abroad?
  • In the digital world, do you need a different approach?
You will be encouraged to consider how you are perceived now, and how you can ensure the first impression isn't your last through top tips and the sharing of experiences, all designed to help you.

Using real life examples discussions on body language, voice quality, and eye contact, both face to face and in the digital world, will be explored as well as the sharing of some great illustrations of cultural differences around business communication, helping you make the right impression in your home and international trade relationships.

Business owners, front line staff, call centre operators, customer service departments, HR and L&D teams and apprentices and job seekers this is for you. Come along and be inspired!
